If you haven’t heard of it, you are probably best stay clear of this highly addictive, network roll-playing game. Mafia Wars, by Zynga, is an online, text based game for millions of Facebook users to login and try to smite other mafioso and their families. You can build onto your own family by simply inviting your friends on Facebook.
I was invited to play by a friend who was very insistent that we, the wife and I, start playing. I found out quickly that this game is perfect for the college kid with a lot of time to waste and doesn’t care to get out of the dorm. It’s a long, drawn-out, painful game that demands a lot of attention with little payoff at the beginning. I’m sure, once you struggle getting through the initial levels that the game will become more engaging.
In the game, my name is Carlo “Bubble Butt” Bonanno. I’m a level 9 player. I have completed 168 jobs, mastered 13 of them, won three fights, lost 32 of them and have been robbed 25 times. I mistakenly picked a name that easily stands out which just asks for trouble. “Hey, it’s me, Bubble Butt Bonanno ... rob me!”
There is only one thing left for me to do – leave the family and go into protective custody.
